? How to Set Up 2FA for Your Vala’s Email Account
To improve account security and protect our organization, all Vala’s email users are required to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on their Google Workspace accounts.
✅ What is 2FA?
Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring a second step to sign in—usually a code sent to your phone or generated by an app.
?️ Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Go to Your Google Account Settings
Sign in with your Vala’s email address and password.
2. Click on "Security"
In the left-hand menu, select Security.
3. Locate "2-Step Verification"
Under the “Signing in to Google” section, find 2-Step Verification and click on it.
4. Click “Get Started”
Re-enter your password when prompted.
5. Set Up Your Second Factor
You can choose how to receive your verification codes:
Phone Prompt: Google will send a prompt to your phone.
Text Message or Call: Enter your phone number to receive a code via SMS or call.
Authenticator App: Use an app like Google Authenticator or Authy to generate time-based codes.
6. Confirm & Finish Setup
Follow the instructions on-screen to complete setup.
Google may ask you to test the method before confirming it.
